It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved former Mayor (1995-2007), Lillian K. Beverly, who left us the morning of Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Lillian served the community of North Brentwood, Maryland, with unwavering dedication, compassion, and a visionary spirit that has left an indelible mark on this community. The Town has lost a great women leader.

During her tenure, Mayor Beverly championed numerous initiatives to preserve the history and promote the beauty of this historically Black enclave nestled between two major cities. She was a friend, mentor, and confidant to many of us. Her unwavering tenacity and invaluable wisdom touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind – a legacy of strength, service, and unwavering dedication to our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
Lillian K. Beverly’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of the North Brentwood community. May she rest in peace.
